Lady Alice Christabel Montagu-Douglas-Scott is the daughter of John Charles Montagu-Douglas-Scott, 9th Duke of Queensberry and Lady Margaret Alice Bridgeman.2 She was born on 25 December 1901.1 She married Henry William Frederick Albert Windsor, 1st Duke of Gloucester, son of George V Frederick Ernest Albert Windsor, King of the United Kingdom and Mary Prinzessin von Teck, on 6 November 1935 at Buckingham Palace, St. James's, London, England.1
She was invested as a Dame Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.).3 She was invested as a Imperial Order of the Crown of India (C.I.).3 She was invested as a Dame Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.).3 She was invested as a Dame Grand Cross, Order of the British Empire (G.B.E.).3 She was invested as a Dame Grand Cross, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (G.C.St.J.).3 Through her marriage, Lady Alice Christabel Montagu-Douglas-Scott gained the title of HRH Duchess of Gloucester on 6 November 1935. She was sponsor for Hon. Henry Francis Cecil Vane at his baptism.4 She was styled as HRH Princess Alice , Duchess of Gloucester on 10 June 1974.5
