Alfonso Maria Francisco Diego de Orléans y de Borbón, 5th Duc de Galleria was the son of Antonio Maria Luis Felipe Juan Florencio de Orléans y de Borbón, 4th Duc de Galleria and Maria Eulalia de Asis de la Piedad de Borbón y de Borbón, Infanta de España.1 He was born on 12 November 1886 at Madrid, Spain.1 He married Beatrice Leopoldine Victoria Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess of the United Kingdom, daughter of Alfred Ernest Albert Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Duke of Edinburgh and Strathearn and Mariya Aleksandrovna Romanov, Grand Duchess of Russia, on 15 July 1909 at Schloss Rosenau, near Coburg, Bayern, Germany.1 He died on 10 August 1975 at age 88 at Sanlucar de Barrameda, Spain.1 He was also reported to have died on 6 August 1975 at Sanlucar de Barrameda.
     He gained the title of Infante de España.1 He gained the title of 5th Duc de Galliera.1 He abdicated as Duc de Galliera on 14 July 1937.2
